Decarbonizing freight transport is critical to achieving the global goals of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Today, freight transport accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions. By 2050, direct CO2 emissions from logistics are set to rise by 42%.
Smart Freight Centre, together with BSR, WEF and seven multinational shippers founded SFBA to create a powerful decarbonization demand signal and a common home for action initiatives, to achieve zero emissions freight logistics.
As a collective of companies with large logistics, knowledge and solution providers and action initiatives, the founders make up the first SFBA Council, acting as a governing body of SFBA. The Council will be advised and directed by the SFBA Advisory Group, which will be a selected number of SFBA Partners.
The Alliance is supported by We Mean Business Coalition and The Mission Possible Partnership.
