Announcement: The first meeting of ISO/TC 207/SC 7/WG 14 “Carbon footprint of transport operations”

21 October 2019 - The first meeting of ISO/TC 207/SC 7/WG 14 “Carbon footprint of transport operations” will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA), on 7-8 November 2019

With growing scrutiny of the climate impact of transport services a new international standardization project "Carbon Footprint of Transport Operations - Requirements and Guidelines for Quantification" will kick off in November. Over the past few years SFC, working with our industry partners in the GLEC,
developed the GLEC Framework as the industry guidance that sets out how to calculate and report logistics emission.

As the format of the GLEC Framework is a guidance document, rather than a formal standard, we believe that having a standard covering the calculation aspect that is aligned with the GLEC Framework, and which builds on the existing EN16258 and ISO International Workshop Agreement 16 documents, will be beneficial to all parties as a further step towards full harmonization.

If you want to participate in the ISO working group or in providing content for the process then please contact your national standards agency.
