About Smart Freight Centre

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a globally active non-profit organization for climate action in the freight sector. We are enablers for those who believe in united action to reduce logistics greenhouse gas emissions. Through creating a single, international methodology for tracking freight emissions we drive transparency to enable emission reductions. SFC brings together multi-nationals, forwarders & carriers, NGOs, and governments in our collaborative initiatives, trainings and programs. Together, we help solve the business challenges behind reducing freight emissions and impact the industry standards. Our goal is to guide the industry to track and reduce its GHG emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030 and reach zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.

About the position

The Office Manager will play a central role in the organization and will be working closely together with the Operations Director supporting her in managing SFC’s administrative, legal, financial, digital and operational processes. You will work in a small, internationally oriented organization, where sparring and interaction with colleagues across the organization and SFC partners is key.

We ask you to:

  • Manage SFC’s office by e.g., equipment procurement, maintaining ICT office systems and supplier relations
  • Support in office administration, planning, procurement, and contracts management
  • Support Finance & Payroll activities e.g., preparing payroll, invoicing, and internal reporting
  • Support HR administration and related activities e.g., recruitment
  • Assist Management Team with meeting preparation, managing calendars and arranging travel
  • Organize staff meetings and events

As the ideal candidate you can demonstrate:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree Business Administration, Business Economics or a similar degree
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Proactive, organized and efficient working habits
  • Flexibility, ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment
  • Initiative and good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English (Dutch is an advantage)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (incl. SharePoint) and technical savviness
  • Home location at reasonable travel distance from Amsterdam
